Hotel Demand is Rising
Summer is here and people are taking advantage of traveling. Hotel demand is increasing faster than anticipated and the industry is experiencing a bounce-back to pre-pandemic numbers. U.S. hotel occupancy rose to 70.6% for the week ending June 11 with an average daily rate (ADR) of $155.37 and Revenue per available room (RevPAR) at $109.76.1
New Year, “NEW” Traveler
Even with inflation pressures, labor shortages, and supply chain disruptions, leisure travel is up! While business travel is expected to remain down for much of the year, with only 58% of meetings and events expecting to return, there has emerged a “New” Traveler – bleisure traveler or digital nomad. These individuals’ motivations and expectations include focus on technology as well as sustainability. 2
New Year, “NEW” Concerns
With more consumers traveling for leisure or bleisure, there are new concerns over gas prices and inflation impacting their travel plans more than COVID.3
