James spent much of his professional career with Procter & Gamble in the professional sales division, ultimately leading the North American professional distribution business & strategy. In his years with P&G, he had opportunity to work closely with multiple Network Distribution Members across the country, enabling him a unique insight and appreciation for the Network “power of local” – the extra care and service that Member Distributors bring to their customer base. James graduated from Carson-Newman College with a B.S. in Political Science.

In Their Own Words
What are your professional drivers?
It’s all about the people. I have the opportunity every day to work with outstanding and innovative suppliers, an amazing Network staff team committed to excellence, and the best distributors in the business. I get the chance to enhance collaboration with suppliers, Member Distributors and the Network team, all of whom are committed to profitable business growth, but also to the development of our teams and to operating with excellence and integrity.

Share a professional accomplishment of which you are particularly proud.
In our Network purpose, we mention that we seek to “improve lives” – a lofty goal. And yet, Network and our Member Distributors made a significant contribution in the COVID-19 pandemic to deliver much-needed solutions to make the world cleaner, safer and healthier. That challenging effort, and our role in it, continues at a higher level of urgency.

Who are you outside of work?
Three things are most important to me: faith, family and friends. I love all sports, reading, travel, and spending quality time with family. As adoptive parents, my wife and I support and advocate for adoption.
